THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (6th March) sold 2,888 store lambs, breeding and feeding sheep.
Store lambs (1151) to £66 for Bleu Du Maine from Bogiefeulach, Tornaveen.
Island lambs (107) to £56 for Cheviots from Uyeahouse, North Roe.
Grit ewes & gimmers (390) to £62 for Continental gimmers from Mains of Inkhorn, Auchnagatt.
Feeding ewes (1,240) averaged £41.13 (+£6.91) to £77 for Continentals from Boghead, Pitcaple.
"The top end of store lambs were a good trade, secondary sorts harder to sell. Feeding ewes the dearest sold this year so far."

Bullocks (1,168) averaged 148p (-1.3p) to 188.6p per kg for a pair of 350kg Charolais from Wellheads, Huntly and £1,070 gross for a pair of 749kg Charolais from Corskellie Farms, Rothiemay.
Heifers (871) averaged 143.7p (-2.0p) to 176p per kg for a 250kg Limousin from Scatsta, Brae and £915 gross for a 600kg Charolais from Tormore, Dunbeath.
Bulls (46) averaged 134.9p (+1.6p) to 160p per kg for a 350kg Charolais from Harestone, Crathes and £770 gross for a 634kg Charolais from Lingland, Occumster, Lybster.
