THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (29th February) sold 2,786 store lambs, breeding and feeding sheep.
Store lambs (908) to £64 for West Lochhills, Kininmonth.
Ewe lambs (87) to £39 for Cheviots from Doulie Cottage, Edzell
Island lambs (421) to £53.50 for Continentals from Muce, Birsay.
Grit ewes & gimmers (443) to £68 for Mule wm ewes from Redhill, Rothiemay.
Ewes and lambs (36) to £35 for Suffolk wm from Backhill, Castle Fraser.
Feeding ewes (891) averaged £34.22 (+£0.37) to £79 for Suffolks from Barnyards, Mintlaw.
"Grit ewes were a good show and sold well. Store lambs were in great demand. Feeding ewes also dearer on the week."

Bullocks (771) averaged 149.3p (+1.6p) to 204.8p per kg for a 210kg Limousin from Easter Corrie, Botriphinie and £1,040 gross for a 766kg Simmental from Redhill, Rothiemay.
Heifers (552) averaged 145.7p (+2.4p) to 184p per kg for a pair of 379kg Simmentals from Salterhill, Elgin and £915 gross for a 628kg Simmental from Faddenhill Farms, Millbrex.
Bulls (29) averaged 124.7p (+9.1p) to 168.7p for a 252kg Limousin per kg and £880 gross for a 668kg Charolais from Mormond Prop, New Pitsligo.
Young calves (five) averaged £122 per head and £280 gross.
"All classes continue to increase in value with top lots at exceptional rates".
