THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (14th February) sold 3,018 prime sheep.
Old season lambs (3,018) averaged 122.7p per kg (+0.2p) and sold to 137.5p per kg for 40kg Suffolks from Airdlin Mains, Ythanbank and £64 gross for 60kg Suffolks from Cairndaie, Sauchen, 58kg & 60kg Texels from Logie Durno, Pitcaple and 58kg Charolais from Logie Durno.
SQQ up to 45.5kg (2,254) averaged 125.7p per kg (+0.7p).

Prime bullocks (78) averaged 135.2p (+1.7p) and sold to 160p per kg fpor a 570kg Limousin from Pityot, Bridge of Muchalls, and purchased by Woodhead Brothers, Turriff, and £1,226.15 gross for a 895kg Limousin from Darnford, Durris, and purchased by C Anderson, Dumfries.
Prime heifers (66) averaged 139.2p (+5.4p) and sold to 161p per kg for a 525kg Limousin from Auchmaliddie Mains, Maud, and purchased by Woodhead Brothers, and £1,080.40 gross for a 730kg Charolais from Burnside of Dipple, Fochabers, and purchased by C Anderson.
Young bulls (three) averaged 131.3p (+27.3p) and sold to 143p per kg and £1,287 gross for a 900kg Charolais from Helenamore, New Aberdour and purchased by Binghill Limited, Aberdeen.

Beef cows (204) averaged 96.63p (+5.63p) and sold to 118p per kg for a 640kg Limousin from Greenhaugh, Huntly and £885 gross for a 845kg Blonde D'Aquitaine from Tillyminate, Gartly.
Dairy cows (14) averaged 81.87p (+11.32p) and sold to 96.4p per kg for a 700kg Friesian from Moss-side of Gight. Fyvie and £715 gross for a 770kg Friesian from Moss-side.
Farrow bulls (29) averaged 72.46p (+19.91p) and sold to 90.6p per kg for a 690kg Limousin from Wester Moy Farm, Forres and £895 gross for a 1,160kg Charolais from Clyne Farm, Newmachar.
Heifers (six) averaged 108.58p (+7.53p) and sold to 123.4p per kg and £765 gross for a 620kg Limousin from Brims Mains, Forss.
Steers (two) averaged 99.63p (-4.66p) to 104.5p per kg and £695 gross for a 665kg Simmental from Mains of Arnage, Ellon.
