THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (1st February) sold 3,650 Store lambs and feeding sheep.



Store Lambs (1,760) to £55 for Suffolks from Bareflathills, Elgin.


Ewes lambs (28) to £47 for Leicesters from Bareflathills Breeding Ewes (eight) to £60 for Texel ewes from Pitfour Partnership, Carnoustie.


Ewes and lambs (19) to £49 for Continentals from Bogiefeulach, Tornaveen.


Island Sheep (468) to £42 for Continentals from Braebuster, Deerness.


Feeding ewes (1,367) averaged £24.86 (-£4.80) to £56 for Suffolks from Davishill, Udny.

Heifers (449) averaged 133p to 169.4p per kg for a pair of 242kg Simmentals from Garline and £820gross for a 612kg Charolais from Strathmore, Coull.


Bulls (21) averaged 109.9p (+3.9p) to 136p per kg for a 386kg Charolais from Bigton Farm, Bigton and £700 gross for a 582kg from Newton of Tulloch, St Katherines.
