STORE CATTLE - FULL REPORT

THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (5th December) sold 805 store cattle and 11 young calves
Bullocks (549) averaged 162.1p (+1.5p) to 209.2p per kg for a 306kg Limousin crosses from Pittenkerrie, Glassel and £1275 gross for a 754kg Limousin cross from Newton, Strichen.
Heifers (252) averaged 157.5p (+7.4p) to 198.4p per kg for  383kg Charolais crosses from Campdalmore, Tomantoul and £1015 gross for pair of 663kg Simmental and Limousin crosses from Meikle Ussie, Dingwall.
Bulls (four) averaged 128p (-3.5p) to 131.3p per kg for a 415kg Charolais cross from Hill of Beltie, Torphins and £600 gross for a 498kg Limousin from Redbanks, Tankerness.
Young calves (11) averaged £184.09 per head and £370 gross.

Overall Aberdeen and Northern Marts sold 1370 bales.  Inside barley straw sold to £7.80 per bale to average £7.10. Outside barley straw sold to £5.40 per bale to average £4.60. Hay sold to £18.40 per bale to average £14.20.  Silage sold to £13.40 per bale to average £10.40.

THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (5th December) sold 2,302 store lambs, breeding and feeding sheep.

Store lambs (687) to £55 for Suffolks from St Johns Wells, Fyvie.
Island lambs (618) to £49.20 for Suffolk lambs from South Flaws, St Margarets Hope.
Breeding Rams (11) to £150 for a Texel Shearling from Tullo of Garvock, Laurencekirk. 
Feeding ewes (986) averaged £27.70 (-£3.96) to £68 twice for Beltex from Tombreckachie, Glenlivet and for Suffolks from St Johns Wells.
