THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (April 10th) 154 prime cattle, and 161 OTM cattle.
Prime bullocks (70) averaged 145.8p (+6.1p) and sold to 157p per kg for a 705kg Limousin from Learney Home Farm, Torphins, and £1,138.80 gross for a 780kg Charolais from Lower Affleck, Whiterashes, both purchased by C Anderson, Dumfries.
Prime heifers (73) averaged 144.9p (+5.7p) and sold to 165p per kg for a 570kg Belgian Blue from Shadowside, Bourtie, and purchased by Rhinds of Elgin, Elgin, and £964.80 gross for a 670kg Charolais from Mill of Buckie, Buckie and purchased by Woodhead Brothers, Turriff.
Young bulls (11) averaged 128.9p (-10.5p) and sold to 148p per kg for a 625kg Simmental from Mill of Balmaud, King Edward and £1,293.10 gross for a 965kg Charolais from Kinclune, Glenkindie, and both purchased by C Anderson.
Beef cows (111) averaged 114.86p (+5.22p) and sold to 137.9p per kg for a 700kg Limousin from Cluny Home Farms, Sauchen and £1,025 gross for a 865kg Blonde D' Aqutaine from Freefield House, Insch.
Dairy cows (seven) averaged 91.49p (+2.91p) and sold to 95.4p per kg for a 655kg Friesian from Mains of Woodston, St Cyrus and £665 gross for a 755kg Friesian from Monyruy, Longside.
Farrow bulls (13) averaged 91.02p (+6.27p) and sold to 113.1p per kg for a 650kg Aberdeen Angus from Lochbuy, Rosehearty and £1,305 gross for a 1185kg Charolais from Druidsdale, Stonehaven.
Heifers (15) averaged 112.33p (-5.2p) and sold to 134.1p per kg for a 645kg Limousin from Milton of Noth, Rhynie and £885 gross for a 695kg Simmental from Hillhead of Barra, Inverurie
