PRIME CATTLE - FULL REPORT
THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (October 11th) 129 prime
cattle, and 62 OTM cattle.
Prime bullocks (55) averaged 127.8p (+8.9p) and sold
to 139p per kg for a 595kg Belgian Blue, and a 665kg Blonde d’Aquitaine
from Nether Glasslaw, New Pitsligo, and purchased by Woodhead Brothers,
Turriff, and £937.50 gross £937.50 for a 750kg Limousin from
Southbank, Skene.
Prime heifers (74) averaged 125.7p (+3.4p) and sold to
144p per kg for a for a 600kg Charolais from Brucewells, Netherley, and
purchased by Bruce of the Broch, Fraserburgh, and £897.75 gross
for a 675kg Limousin from Nethermill of Turnerhall, Ellon, and purchased
by Woodhead Brothers.
Beef cows (43) averaged 73.42p (+1.52p) and sold to 84p
per kg for a 685kg Limousin from Redbanks, Tankerness and £795 gross
for a 955kg Simmental from Nether Tillylair, Lumphanan.
Farrow bulls (8) averaged 46.8p (-6.2p) and sold to 54p
per kg for a 765kg Belgian Blue from Tormiston, Stenness and £615
gross for a 1320kg Charolais from Dams of Craigie, Whitecairns.
Heifers (11) averaged 74.65p (-20p) and sold to 97p per
kg for a 560kg Limousin from Greenfold, Bridge of Marnoch and £555
gross for a 620kg Belgian Blue from Greenfold.
