2007 Sales Reports

QUOYBRAE, Aberdeen & Northern Marts (19th October ) under the auspices of the North Country Cheviot Sheep Society sold 62 rams to average £236.53 against £314.66 last year for 90 sold.

Champion was a shearling by Wester Ace from J S MacKay, Biggins, Killimster, Wick and sold for £650 to Alan MacKay, South Balkeith, Tain
Reserve champion was a 3 shear ram by Shoestanes Star from J & J Farquhar, Smiddyquoy, Watten and sold for £320 to J Jackson, Ericstane, Moffat.
Selling for the joint top price of £1,200 was a shearling by Shoestanes Star from J & J Farquhar to J Cromarty, Roadside, Toab, Orkney and a shearling by Durran Debonair from The Castle of Mey Trust, Longoe Farm to J S Baillie, Sebay, Tankerness, Orkney.

£700 D N Campbell & Sons, Bardnaclavan to J & M MacDonald, Tormore, Dunbeath and £600 to A MacKay, South Balkieth.
£650 Castle of Mey Trust, Longoe to J & J Smith Upper Cornquoy, Holm, Orkney and £550 to J Cromarty, Sultigoe, Stenness, Orkney.
£500 J & J Farquhar, Smiddyquoy to D N Campbell & Sons, Bardnaclavan and £400 to L Dunn, Muir of Ord.
£400 (twice) J S MacKay, Biggins to J Cromarty, Roadside & M R McCallum, Woodlands Farm, Dingwall and £350 to J & M MacDonald.

Also included in the Sale was the Dispersal of 25 North Country Stock Cheviot Gimmers from J & J Farquhar, Smiddyquoy, Watten selling to a top of £200 for a pair by Wester Paragon and Bardnaclavan Supreme to J McClymont, Weymess Castle Home Farm, Fife other pairs selling to £180, £170 & £150 to average £124.40.
