THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (16th November) sold 1,111 store cattle and 40 young calves.


Bullocks (604) averaged 119.6p (-4.4p) to 170p per kg for a 370kg Charolais from Pittenkerrie, Glassel and £920 gross for 796kg Charolais from Inverichnie, Banff.

Heifers (489) averaged 113.3p (-4.9p) to 168p per kg for a 274kg Charolais from Harestone, Crathes and £745 gross for a 614kg Charolais from Netherton, Fyvie.

Bulls (18) averaged 104.52 p (-6.88p) to 119.9p per kg for a 446kg Limousin from 2 Bogie Street, Huntly and £700 gross for a 620kg Limousin from Whitelums, Keithall.

Young and reared calves (40) averaged £160 per head to £335 gross.
