2007 Sales Reports

THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (9th November) sold 1,789 store cattle and 41 young calves.


Bullocks (1,009) averaged 124p (-2.5p) to 236p per kg for a Limousin from Auchorachan, Glenlivet and £905 gross for 748kg Charolais from Meikle Begshill, Drumblade.

Heifers (748) averaged 118.2p (-0.3p) to 186p per kg for a 354kg Belgium Blue from New Bourtreebush, Newtonhill and £702 gross for 592kg Simmental from Netherton, Aberlour.

Bulls (32) averaged 111.4p (-19.4p) to 154p per kg for a pen of three 230kg Simmentals from Chapelton, Dellavaird and £665 gross for a 606kg Charolais from Hindstones, New Aberdour.

Young and reared calves (41) averaged £200 per head to £355 gross.
