PRIME CATTLE - FULL REPORT

THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (29th June) sold 343 store cattle and eight young calves.

Bullocks (164) averaged 126.6p (-6.7p) to 148p per kg for a 464kg Charolais from East Lediken, Insch and £825 gross for a 630kg Charolais from Meikle Begshill, Drumblade. 
Heifers (158) averaged 122.5p (+1.7p) to 169p per kg for a pen of 402kg Limousin from Oswie Farm and £735 gross for a 576kg Limousin from Mill of Newton, Insch.
Bulls (21) averaged 100.4p (-11.1p) to 114.3p per kg for a 376kg Limousin from Burnside, Keith, and £550 gross for a 534kg Simmental from Upper Tomdhu, Knockando.
Young and reared calves (eight) averaged £193 per head to £235 gross.
"With a large ringside of buyers.  Quality cattle resulted in similar rates especially heifers".

Heifers sold to 129p per kg for a 434kg Simmental realising £560 from Redbanks.  Young Bulls sold to £505 from Haymount, Finstown.

BREEDING CATTLE - FULL REPORT


THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (June 29th) sold 228 head of adult breeding cattle including seven bulls.

Feeding ewes and rams (495) averaged £33.97 (-£0.01) and sold to £58.50 for Charollais from Millquoy, Stenness.
