PRIME CATTLE - FULL REPORT

THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (August 30th) 122 prime cattle, and 115 OTM cattle.

Prime bullocks (62) averaged 125.4p and sold to 137p per kg for a 605kg Belgian Blue from Nether Glasslaw, New Pitsligo, and purchased by Woodhead Brothers, Turriff, and £983.40 gross for a 745kg Charolais from Nether Overhill, New Pitsligo.
Prime heifers (60) averaged 127.9p and sold to 146p per kg for a 500kg Limousin from Greenhaugh, Huntly, purchased by Rhinds of Elgin, and £870.75 gross for a 675kg Limousin from Aquhorsk, Skene and purchased by Woodhead Brothers.
Beef cows (95) averaged 77.23p and sold to 101p per kg for a 620kg Limousin from Rivestone, Kinnoir and £725 gross for 770kg Limousin from Scotston, Insch.
Dairy cows (12) averaged 60.48p and sold to 84p per kg and £535 gross for a 640kg Friesian from Berriedale, St Margarets, Hope.
Farrow bulls (4) averaged 64.06p and sold to 83p per kg and £685 gross for a 830kg Limousin from Lynton Cottage, Ulbster.
Heifers (2) averaged 84.35p and sold to 94p per kg for a 430kg Shorthorn from Redbanks, Tankerness and £565 gross for a 720kg Limousin from Eastfield of Monaltrie, Ballater.
Steers (2) averaged 85.81p and sold to 87p per kg and £805 gross for a 925kg Charolais from Waterside, Cushnie.

THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (30th August) sold 1,412 prime sheep.

New season lambs (1,412) averaged 102.9p per kg and sold to 114p per kg for a pen of 44kg Texels from Tapiken, Tyrie, and £55 gross for a pen of 64kg Texels from Mid Haddo, Fyvie, and for a pen of 49kg Charollais from Conrock, Rothes.
New season SQQ up to 45.5kg (937) averaged 105.1p per kg.
