PRIME CATTLE
THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (September 28th) sold 127 prime cattle, prime and 130 OTM cattle.

Prime bullocks (63) averaged 122.78p (-1.22p) to 142p per kg for a 685kg Charolais from Greenstyle, Kildrummy to Woodhead Brothers, Turriff and £993.30 gross for a 770kg Charolais from Hillside, Insch. Prime heifers (64) averaged 125.04p (-1.76p) to 143p per kg for a 565kg Limousin from Shiel Farm, Alford to Woodhead Brothers and £876.30 gross for a 690kg Belgian Blue from Shiel Farm, Alford.

Beef cows (104) averaged 80.96p (+7.03p) to 115p per kg for a 735kg Limousin from Greenhaugh, Huntly and £965 gross for a 915kg Charolais from Mosshead of Aquithie, Kemnay. Dairy cows (13) averaged 36.05p (-15.41p) to 73p per kg and £575 gross for a 785kg Fresian from Millbuie, Skene.

Farrow bulls (5) averaged 47.16p (+0.42p) to 54p per kg and £525 gross for a 975kg Limousin from South Keithney, Burnhervie.

Heifers (13) averaged 89.64p (+15.56p) to 109p per kg for a 700kg Simmental from Finzean Estates, Finzean and £815 gross for a 785kg Limousin from Mosshead of Aquithie, Kemnay.

Steers (5) averaged 60.14p (-13.23p) to 93p per kg and £555 gross for a 600kg Charolais from Seacrest, Huna, Caithness.
