THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (20th September) sold 11,063 breeding, store and feeding sheep.

Store lambs (4,618) to £44 for Charollais from Gowanbrae, Dulnain. Island consigned lambs & ewes (3,188) to £41.20 for Suffolks from Bydon, Gloup. Ewe lambs (706) to £59 for Mules from Mains of Glenbuchat, Strathdon. Breeding gimmers and ewes (1,978) to £86 for a pen of Mule gimmers from Kirkland, Forgue. Feeding ewes and rams (573) averaged £27.10 (+£3.23) to £51 from Fearn Farm, Fearn.

“Store lambs once again met a very keen demand, gimmers also sold well to a good ringside of buyers. All types of feeding ewes dearer.”
