PRIME CATTLE - FULL REPORT
THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (October 26th) sold 166 prime cattle, 266 prime and OTM cattle.

Prime bullocks (86) averaged 127.9p (+1.5p) and sold to 142p per kg for a 560kg Simmental from Whiteside, Tullynessle purchased by Mathers (Inverurie) Limited and £1,019.10 gross for a 790kg Simmental from Southbank, Skene. Prime heifers (80) averaged 124.3p (-3.5p) and sold to 142p per kg for a 535kg Limousin from The Banking, St Katherines purchased by A and F Neish, Kintore and £858 gross for a 660kg Charolais from Auchmore, Midmar purchased by Mathers (Inverurie) Limited.

Beef cows (192) averaged 74.53p (-2.57p) and sold to 109p per kg for a 720kg Limousin from Tarmair, Boyndlie, and £795 gross for a 785kg Charolais from Wester Craiglands, Fortrose. Dairy cows (27) averaged 47.76p (+0.64p) and sold to 77p per kg for a 790kg Fresian and £605 gross for an 815kg Fresian from Birkenburn, Keith. Farrow bulls (13) averaged 48.88p (+0.38p) and sold to 67p per kg and £635 gross for a 945kg Limousin from Croftbain, Tomnavoulin.

Heifers (19) averaged 83.02p (-9.38p) and sold to 102p per kgfor a 585kg Simmental from Newmill, Crathes, and £775 gross for a £970kg Limousin from Balmaud, King Edward. Steers (15) averaged 76.02p (-25.35p) and sold to 107p per kg for a 650kg Blonde from Hatton Farm, Hatton.
