In the Charles J Marshall (Aberdeen Limited) sponsored Show and
Sale of weaned calves judged by Mr Blair Duffton, Huntly the Overall
Champion was a 534kg Belgian Blue cross steer from Parrock, Rothiemay
which realised £740.
Reserve champion was a 428kg Charolais from Camaghael, Fort William
which realised £820.
"A good show of quality well bred calves were keenly sought
after."
Bullocks (592) averaged 141p (+22p) to 194p per kg for a 360kg Charolais
from Newton Cottage, Acharacle and £775 gross for a 606kg
and 590kg Charolais from Rorandle, Monymusk.
Heifers (492) averaged 127.2p (+19.2p) to 165p per kg for a 382kg
