THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (11th October) sold 11,892 breeding, store and feeding sheep.

Store lambs (4,512) to £45 for Suffolks from Bardspark, Stonehaven.

Ewe lambs (496) to £57 for Mules from Rinnaha, Strathdon.

Island Sheep (2,260) to £41.20 for Texels from Garth, Mossbank. Breeding gimmers and ewes (2,793) to £92 for Texels from Upper Kirkton, Dyce.

Breeding rams (337) to £500 for a Texel shearling from Mains of Orchardstown, Udny.

Feeding ewes and rams (1,494) averaged £23.46 (+£5.04) to £54 for continental ewes from Parkhouse, Maud.

"Store lambs were once again a very strong trade. All classes of breeding sheep met a keen demand, feeding ewes and rams were also dearer."
