PRIME CATTLE - FULL REPORT
THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern
Marts (16th November) sold 141 prime cattle, and 261 OTM cattle.
Prime bullocks (60) averaged 126.7p (-0.8p)
and sold to 141p per kg for a 610kg Limousin from Auchmaliddie Mains,
Maud, and purchased by Woodhead Brothers, Turriff, and £991.60 gross
for a 740kg Charolais from Caskieben, Kinellar.
Prime heifers (78) averaged 129.8p (+2.2p)
and sold to 146p per kg for a 530kg Limousin from Chapelpark, Methlick,
and purchased by West End Butchers, Peterhead, and for a 520kg Limousin
from Auchmaliddie Mains, purchased by Rhinds of Elgin, Elgin, and £1,002.15
gross for a 765kg Charolais from Newton of Ballunie, Kettins, and purchased
by C Anderson, Lockerbie.
Young bulls (two) averaged 106p (+1.6p) and sold to 108p
per kg and £837 gross for a 775kg Simmental from Nether Tillylair,
Lumphanan.
Beef cows (208) averaged 71.5p (+1.97p) and
sold to 114p per kg for a 740kg Limousin from Achalone, Halkirk and £865
gross for a 955kg Charolais from 35 Oldhall, Watten.
Dairy cows (15) averaged 46.7p (+8.4p) and sold
to 66p per kg for a 735kg Fresian from Middleton of Rora, Longside and
£485 gross for a 750kg Friesian from Home Farm, Arnage, Ellon and
for a 735kg Friesian from Middleton of Rora.
Farrow bulls (9) averaged 41.55p (-4.52p)
and sold to 64p per kg and £655 gross for a 1025kg Simmental from
Wester Clockeasy, Urquhart.
Heifers (14) averaged 77.36p (-10.88p) and sold to 102p
per kg and £775 gross for a 760kg Simmental from Slampton, Auchnagatt.
Steers (15) averaged 69.84p (-22.78p) to 111p per kg for a 680kg
Charolais from Darnabo, Fyvie and £865 gross for a 800kg Simmental
from Kinglasser, Fraserburgh.
