THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (9th November) sold 96 prime cattle and 314 prime and OTM cattle.

Prime bullocks
(43) averaged 127.5p (-2.5p) and sold to 148p per kg for a 540kg Limousin from Auchmaliddie Mains, Maud, and purchased by Rhinds of Elgins,  and £1,002 gross for a 835kg Charolais from Tillioch, Echt.  Prime heifers (47) averaged 127.6p (+1.6p) and sold to 149p per kg for a 520kg Limousin from Auchmaliddie Mains, and purchased by Rhinds of Elgin, and £885.60 gross for a 615kg Limousin from Boghouse, Tarves, and purchased by Woodhead Brothers, Turriff. Young bulls (six) averaged 104.4p (+15.4p) and sold to 121p per kg and £792.55 gross for a 655kg Charolais from Mains of Leask, Slains.

Beef cows (248) averaged 69.53p (-0.65p) and sold to 114p per kg for a 700kg Limousin from Keam Farms, Hopeman and £815 gross for a 825kg Charolais from Nether Glasslaw, New Pitsligo.  Dairy cows (17) averaged 38.3p (-7.27p) and sold to 79p per kg and £445 gross for a 560kg Friesian from Berriedale Farms, St Margarets Hope. 

Farrow bulls (14) averaged 46.07p (-4.56p) and sold to 79p per kg  and £765 gross for a 970kg Saler from Redlands, Nigg Mains.  Heifers (18) averaged 88.24p (+5.21p) and sold to 115p per kg for a 650kg Limousin from Groam Farm, Kirkhill  and £795 gross for a 790kg Belgian Blue from Lethendry, Cromdale. Steers (17) averaged 92.62p (+12.8p) to 106p per kg  for a 725kg Charolais from Beechbank, Fordyce and a 630kg Blonde from North Corsegight, New Deer and £785 gross for a 800kg Blonde from North Corsegight, New Deer.

New season lambs (825) averaged 96.8p (-2.8p) and sold to 119p per kg for 42.5kg Texels from Veltigar, Tankerness, and £54 gross for a 61kg Texel from Auchorachan, Glenlivet.
SQQ up to kg (355) averaged 101.1p per kg (-2.1p).
