THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (3rd November) sold 1,863 store cattle and weaned calves including  78 young calves.
Store cattle
Bullocks (849) averaged 125.6p (+2.1p) and sold to 181p per kg for a 290kg Limousin from Backmuir, Keith, and £875 gross for a 702kg Charolais from Loanhead, Cornhill. 
Heifers (806) averaged 120.1p (+1.6p) and sold to 220p per kg for 227kg Belgian Blues from Backmuir, and £720 gross for a 620kg Aberdeen Angus from Auchtertyre Farms, Pluscarden.
Bulls (128) averaged 117.4p (+10.4p) and sold to 147p per kg for a 326kg Charolais from Belmaduthy, Munlochy, and £650 gross for a 678kg Charolais from Inverlochy Farm, Tomintoul.
Young and reared calves (78) averaged £225 per head and sold to £305 gross.
"A very mixed selection of stock on offer, the better end a similar trade, plainer types less money."

Heifers sold to 137p per kg for a 394kg Belgian Blue from Hammerbrake, Sanday and £625 gross fir a 480kg Limousin from Midhouse.
Fodder
The company sold 290 bales. Inside barley straw to £7.80 to average £7.40 and outside barley straw sold at £6.20. Silage sold at £9.10 and hay at £10 per pale.
