PRIME CATTLE - FULL REPORT
THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (December 21st) 95 prime cattle, 48 prime and OTM cattle.

Prime bullocks (53) averaged 123.6p (+0.4p) and sold to 141p per kg for a 570kg Limousin from Auchorthie, Maud, and purchased by Woodhead Brothers, Turriff, and £991.80 gross for a 870kg Charolais from Mains of Kinmundy, Kingswells. Prime heifers (42) averaged 130.7p (+1.5p) and sold to 149p per kg for a 465kg Charolais from Caskieben, Kinellar, and purchased by Woodhead Brothers, and £911.20 gross for a 670kg Charolais from Caskieben, also purchased by Woodhead Brothers.

Beef cows (26) averaged 64.8p (+2.1p) and sold to 93p per kg for a 600kg Aberdeen Angus from Redbanks, Tankerness and £855 gross for a 960kg Simmental from Balquhindachy, Methlick. Farrow bulls (four) averaged 38.96p (-5.76p) and sold to 61p per kg for a 750kg Belgian Blue from Culdrain Lodge, Gartly and £465 gross for a 905kg Limousin from Murrail, Insch. Heifers (one) averaged 79p (+11.43p) and grossed £455 for a 575kg Blonde Aquitaine from Faddenhill Farms, Millbrex. Steers (17) averaged 86.17p (+5.11p) to 96p per kg and £525 gross for a 545kg Limousin Wester Auchmore, Glenrinnes.
