PRIME CATTLE - FULL REPORT

THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (December 14th) sold 163 prime cattle, prime and 190 OTM cattle.

Prime bullocks (64) averaged 123.2p (-0.7p) and sold to 139p per kg for a 540kg Limousin from Whiteside, Tullynessle, purchased by West End Butchers, Peterhead, and for a 585kg Limousin from Mill of Fowlis, Muir of Fowlis, and purchased by Woodhead Brothers, Turriff and £1,004.
15 gross for 755kg Limousin from Learney Home Farms, Torphins.
Prime heifers (99) averaged 129.2p (+2.2p) and sold to 145p per kg for a 530kg Limousin from Chapelpark, Methlick, and purchased by Bruce of the Broch, Fraserburgh, and £958.10 gross for a 715kg Limousin from Learney Home Farm.

Beef cows (150) averaged 62.70p (-9.55p) and sold to 92p per kg for a 780kg Limousin from Skilmafilly, Auchnagatt and £735 gross for a 840kg Limousin from Skilmafilly, Auchnagatt. Dairy cows (26) averaged 43.37p (+1.27p) and sold to 62p per kg and £475 gross for a 770kg Friesian from Moss-side of Gight, Fyvie.

Farrow bulls (six) averaged 44.72p (-17.80p) and sold to 65p per kg for a 590kg Limousin from 4 Station Road, Watten and £495 gross for a 985kg Limousin from Wester Buthill, Roseisle. Heifers (seven) averaged 67.70p (-17.52p) and sold to 88p per kg for a 605kg Limousin from Springburn, Kintore and £595 gross for a 780kg Simmental from Buckie Farm, Newmachar. Steers (one) averaged 81.06p (-14.53) to 81.06p per kg and £535 gross for a 660kg Limousin from Leys Hotel, Kinellar.
