THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (11th August) sold 367 store cattle and one reared calves.
Bullocks (215) averaged 125.8p (+2.1p) to 154p per kg for a pen of three 314kg Charolais from Auchtertyre Farms, Pluscarden and £765 gross for a 554kg Limousin and a pair of 614kg Charolais from Commonty, New Deer.
Heifers (130) averaged 116.8p (+0.2p) to 134p per kg for a 388kg Limousin from Mains of Inkhorn, Auchnagatt and £725 gross for a pair of 588kg Limousins from Redhill, Mosstowie.
Bulls (27) averaged 102.6p (-1.3p) to 121p per kg for a 372kg Limousin from Tillykerrie, Tarland and £565 gross for a 545kg Aberdeen-Angus from Worldsend, Maud.
Reared calf (1) to £175 gross.

to average £8.60. Standing crop barley to £105 per acre.

store and feeding sheep.
Store lambs (263) to £44 for Texels from Beach-head of Ord, Banff.
Ewe lambs (174) to £53 for a Suffolks from Mains of Clachriach, Maud. Breeding gimmers and ewes (128) to £70 for three Suffolk wm from Worldsend, Maud.
Feeding ewes and rams (863) averaged £35.41 (-£1.05) to £70 for a Texel from Little Muddy, Lumphart, Inverurie.
“With a very mixed show of ewes on offer all classes eased slightly on price. ”
