THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (August 10th) sold 110 prime cattle, 89 prime and OTM cattle.

Prime bullocks (43) averaged 118p (-4p) to 128p per kg for a 665kg Limousin from Hillside, Insch and for a 665kg Belgian Blue from Southbank, Skene to Woodhead Brothers, Turriff and £919.80 gross for a 730kg Limousin from Southbank, Skene.

Prime heifers (65) averaged 120.2p (-2.7p) to 135p per kg for a 520kg Limousin from Monlettie, Methlick purchased by A and F Neish, Butcher, Kintore and £806 gross for a 650kg Charolais from Shadowside, Bourtie to Woodhead Brothers.

Beef cows (49) averaged 65.03p (+2.84p) to 81p per kg for a 675kg Belgian Blue from Nether Glasslaw, New Pitsligo and £635 gross for a 835kg Simmental from Moss-side of Gight, Methlick.

Dairy cows (26) averaged 45.84p (-3.48p) to 62p per kg for a 800kg Fresian from Concraig Dairy, Bucksburn and £515 gross for a 895kg Fresian also from Concraig Dairy.

Farrow bulls (2) averaged 54.37p (-0.23p) to 57p per kg for a 660kg Ayrshire from Tannachie, Stonehaven and £465 gross for a 885kg from Backhill of Thornton, Bourtie.

Heifers (8) averaged 72.65p (+4.98p) to 87p per kg and £495 gross.

Steers (4) averaged 58.46p (-7.43p) to 66p per kg and £575 gross.
