About Us
Aberdeen and Northern Marts is the largest farmer-owned
livestock auction company in Europe with annual sales exceeding £80
million and handles more than 100,000 store, prime and breeding cattle.
Also, more than 500,000 store, prime and breeding sheep are handled
at our two purpose-built auction centres in the North and North-east
of Scotland. Furthermore, our Elgin Auction centre hosts regular Saturday
markets and antiques auctions.
The business is committed to providing a comprehensive and highly
efficient livestock marketing service for producers, based on the
highest levels of integrity to satisfy the needs of both buyers and
sellers.
The flagship auction mart at Thainstone Centre, which opened in January,
1990, is recognised as one of the most modern auction complexes in
Europe with many innovative design features to facilitate the efficient
and stress-free handling of livestock. In addition to serving the
North-East area, a major part of the business at Thainstone is the
marketing of livestock from the North of Scotland and the Northern
Isles.
